The Credit Card Initiative (CCI) Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) project for credit card processors enables a contractor to conduct independent assessments of the systems used by credit card processors. This initiative aims to safeguard taxpayer data, maintain secure credit card operations, and improve the existing production environment. The IV&V vendor evaluates the overall quality of the systems, identifies any inconsistencies within the Credit Card Program (including IVR and online services), and ensures that the card processors comply with IRS system development and business requirements, thereby upholding the integrity of the Credit Card Program.
