The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has a requirement for Commercial-Off-the Shelf (COTS) accounting and tax law training courses in primarily an e-learning format for IRS employees. The IRS Accounting and Tax Law Training Program is an on-going agency wide program which assists the IRS in meeting the challenges of tax administration by providing its employees technical and specialized training courses for employee development and maintaining Certified Public Account (CPA) certification. The tax law and accounting related topics, including state ethics courses, will be accessed as a part of standardized training curriculum or continuing professional education. The use of technical and specialized courses allows IRS employees to learn and apply tax law and accounting principles that are critical to job performance. IRS Operating Divisions use the program contract to meet agency training strategies and employee Continuing Professional Education (CPE) training requirements.
