U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY OFFICE OF TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE SENIOR FINANCIAL SPECIALIST (TRAVEL) The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Technical Assistance (OTA) provides technical assistance in over 50 countries in five functional areas: economic crimes, government debt and infrastructure finance, budget and financial accountability, banking and financial services, and revenue policy and administration. OTA is seeking a Senior Financial Specialist to support its global projects. The person selected will be hired under a personal services contract. Please note: this is NOT a civil service position. The Senior Financial Specialist performs accounting functions and other financial related analyses to assist the Finance Manager in ensuring accuracy and timeliness of accounting records and reports and financial information for projects and activities in the Office of Technical Assistance. SCOPE OF POSITION: Includes, but not limited to: Examines program office travel authorizations for compliance with Federal Travel Regulation and program office procedures. Audits business travel vouchers. Resolve discrepancies. Coordinate the approval for all vouchers being processed for payment. .Acts as point of contact with Treasury Fiscal Services on matters of travel system (Concur CGE) operations and reporting. Performs data entry in the accounting system. Reconciles accounting reports and request appropriate corrections. Performs special research projects concerning financial and accounting aspects of program activities. In addition, provides back-up in the following areas: Maintains expertise in Federal Travel Regulation and act as reference for Office of Technical Assistance travelers and staff in trip planning and processing travel authorizations. Assists in creating ad hoc financial reports as requested from time to time and running of existing reports on monthly or quarterly basis. QUALIFICATIONS: B.A. in accounting or related field is desired. Knowledge of Treasury accounting systems, Federal Travel Regulations, and significant accounting or financial-related experience is preferred. Computer experience, spreadsheet, word processing, EXCEL and ACCESS are mandatory. U.S. citizenship is required. SALARY AND BENEFITS: In accordance with program regulations and based on demonstrated salary history, salaries range from $51.18 to $66.54 per hour. Background checks and Security Clearance: Moderate Risk Public Trust position. Candidates will need to be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate level of clearance.
