The Bureau of Engraving and Printing’s Office of Quality Operations requires a new Video Spectral Comparator (VSC) for its Eastern Currency Facility in Washington, DC. This instrument will provide document and security feature imaging and hyperspectral analysis to support quality control across BEP divisions. It will be used to analyze the Catalyst family of notes and production defects. The enhanced spectral and imaging capabilities are expected to improve the efficiency of printed currency production and QC analysis.
