This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12 & 13, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation shall not be issued. This is a small business set aside. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), Research Analysis Division/Office of Technology Development (OTD), District Currency Facility (DCF) is a component of the Department of the Treasury. In support of these operations at BEP’s DCF, the BEP has a need for a research grade magnetic imager. OTD seeks to acquire a research grade magnetic imager to analyze magnetic inks, paper, finished currency, and similar materials. The magnetic imager will be utilized to fully characterize materials and includes the ability to perform non-destructive hard and soft magnetic measurements. See attached RFQ for details.
