The Elmendorf Test is performed according to TAPPI method T 414. Elmendorf Tear testing determines the force required to continue the tearing of an initial cut in sheet materials such as paper, plastic film, textile and non-woven materials. PPS Roughness Tester Equipment is required to perform PPS Roughness testing for papers that are frequently handled such as currency, currency paper, non-distinctive banknote paper and miscellaneous materials. Additionally, the TAPPI T 555 Parker-surf method measures the roughness of paper and paper board under conditions intended to simulate the nip pressures and backing substrates found in printing processes. The measuring Principle is that of determining the resistance to flow or air between the test surface and a metal band in contact with it. BEP is looking for contractors that supply both the Elmendorf Tear Tester and Roughness Tester. However, if we cannot find a vendor that can supply both Testers BEP will consider purchasing the equipment’s individually. If vendors have any issues with SAM.gov such as opening attachment, or buffering please contact the SAM.gov Help Desk.
