The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is an agency within of the Department of the Treasury that designs, engraves, and prints United States currency and other security products. Currency manufacturing occurs at the BEP facilities located in Washington, DC (DCF) and in Fort Worth, TX, (WCF). BEP’s primary customer is the Federal Reserve Board (FRB). The Photoengraving Section located at DCF requires a new combination Plate Exposure/Drying Unit to help support the United States Currency Program (USCP). This unit will be used in conjunction with the existing Flint Group Nyloprint® plate processing equipment currently in use within the Section. The Plate Exposure/Drying unit will support the production of offset currency plates, ensure continuous operations of plate manufacturing, ensure production requirements are met based on the Yearly Currency Order (YCO), and support other dry offset printing requirements without affecting YCO plate production.
