The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) Office of Quality Operations (OQO) seeks to acquire a new Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry Thermal Conductivity Detector (GC-MS-TCD) system to support quality assurance testing of BEP manufactured and vendor supplied inks/materials. The GC-MS-TCD system shall be used to perform established methods (e.g. water content analysis and volatile organic compounds (VOC) percentage determination) via TCD and new methods associated with the analysis of inks/materials to identify organic compounds (e.g. phthalates in leachable and extractable) via MS.
