This is a Request for Information (RFI) (hereinafter Notice). This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, request for bids or quotations, nor, a promise to issue a solicitation in the future. The purpose of this RFI is to obtain knowledge and information for project planning purposes only. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) has interest in, and is seeking sources capable of providing of Brand Name or Equal Emplex's Continuous Band Sealer MPS7100 with spare parts kit to the BEP WCF Facility located in Fort Worth, Texas. Salient characteristics include: Must be able to handle 350 degrees Fahrenheit while the money bands run through it at 10 ½” every two seconds. The glue will not set and seal if the temperature drops below 325 degrees while the bands are running through the sealing unit. Must be able to hermetically seal all heat sealable materials at a speed of 1000" per minute. Bag Weight: Max 2 lbs. (1 kg). Feed Direction: Right to Left N/C for Left to Right. Sealer Orientation: Vertical N/C for Horizontal. Seal Bar Width: 0.25" (6mm) N/C for 1/8"0.5/8" (3mm~19mm). Seal Bar Length: 10" of both heating and cooling zones. Comprised of two 5 inch bars N/C for 2.5" long, moving heater bars. Pressure Roller: Stainless Steel. N/C for Rubber Machine Supports: 3" lockable height adjustable casters. N/C option height adjustable foot pads. Electrical Power: 110V 12 amps single phase N/C for 220V 6 amps single phase. Electrical Components: UL/CSA certified. ESA inspected and stickered. Machine Crating: No Charge (suitable for transport by truck) Ocean Going Crating optional Seal Throat Depth: 3.75". Additional Heating Elements can be added to the system to make sure the system can maintain the required temperature at the required rate of input and output.
