The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is issuing this Sources Sought Notification for a Target Range Carrier System Upgrade. Specifically, BEP is seeking input from industry to gain knowledge of current systems and solutions that offer a Wireless Target Range Carrier System Upgrade for four (4) indoor lanes. The following represents BEP’s basic desired requirements for this technology: Easily programmable through a wireless controller, allowing uncomplicated intuitive screen operations Target system should have the ability to turn 360 degrees Targets are locally controlled using Lane Controller (LC) or from a control room area using the Primary Master Control Computer Programmable maneuvers and scenarios for skill set developed and effective training Speed control options provide advance and retreat training exercises Basic and advanced user interfaces support the operator’s preferred course of fire Moves along a rail system, powered by an internal direct drive, dual motor system, with anti-static wheels Closed track should provide smooth target transportation System shall have the ability to support four (4) indoor lanes Include operations and maintenance manuals Target system must be designed to withstand direct hits from all types of ammunition without failure (rifle and shotgun) System should be less susceptible to debris in tracks and reduce the need to clean or interfere with target operation Shall provide one (1) year warranty on the equipment Shall provide training to Firearms Instructor(s) System should have 360 degree turning target retrieval system
