NOTICE ID 2031ZA24N00024 The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), Western Currency Facility (WCF), intends to issue a sole-source, firm-fixed price contract to Koenig & Bauer Banknote Solutions SA for technical assistance services required for the press operators with limited experience operating the Optinota-H Hot Foil press (ONH) and the attached Cutting Unit II. The training will be conducted on the Optinota-H Press and Cut Unit II located at the WCF in Fort Worth TX. Training will take place on an eight (8) hour day shift work schedule, Monday through Friday. This will be a total of 40 hours of training. The original equipment manufacturer shall provide a technician who is knowledgeable of the ONH and Cutting Unit II machine setup and processing functions. The Contractor’s technician will provide technical support and assistance with project testing at the Western Currency Facility in Ft. Worth, TX. This procurement will be made under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other than Full and Open Competition, as authorized by FAR 6.302-1 and in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes or a solicitation of offers. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties who believe they possess the capability to provide the technical services herein, should submit information that clearly demonstrates their capability. Responses to this notice shall be received by May 31, 2024 at 5:00pm EST. All responses must be in writing only via email to the point of contacts specified in this notice. Telephone requests or inquiries will not be accepted. Any costs associated with the preparation and submission of data or information or any other costs incurred in responding to this notice are the sole responsibility of the respondent and will not be reimbursed by the Government. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is issuing a Sources Sought to determine if there are any Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), Women Owned Small Business (WOSB), 8(a), Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone), or Small Business (SB) that can provide annual preventative maintenance and calibration for four (4) Anton Paar MCR 102 rheometers at the District Currency Facility (DCF) in Washington, D.C. and Western Currency Facility (WCF) in Fort Worth, TX. A draft Performance Work Statement (PWS) is attached. This is a request for planning purposes and information only, and does not constitute an Invitation for Bids. Requests for Proposals, Quotations. As such, BEP needs responsive telephone/electronic mail support and an expert technician/engineer dispatched as often as needed for on-site services. This includes annual preventive maintenance, calibration, and replacement parts/software identical or fully compatible with original equipment, and all other requirements as defined in this PWS. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. The proposed NAICS code is 811210 Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance and the business size standard is $34 million. Specifically, BEP is interested in businesses that are able to perform the requirement as stated in the PWS. Those interested are requested to provide a capability statement of their businesses ability to perform the PWS, including the name of the business, DUNs number, and responses to the specific questions listed below. 1.
