On July 6, 2023, a Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEI) will be issued by the National Park Service (NPS). The RFEI allows interested parties to submit their concept(s) of potential future adaptive use of the Libbey Physical Medicine Center (PMC) considering the park’s purpose. The bathhouse was constructed in 1922 by the National Park Service as the Government Free Bathhouse and Clinic. The bathhouse was later remodeled and operated as a physical medicine center and health spa under a concessions contract until it closed in 2005. The property is a two-story structure, owned by the government, and has approximately 20,160 square feet of floor space divided into 10,112 square feet on the first floor and 10,048 square feet on the second floor, and includes a swimming pool at the lower level. Copies of the RFEI are available for downloading at: https://www.nps.gov/hosp/getinvolved/work-with-us.htm or you may contact the Management and Program Analyst Tricia Horn at tricia_horn@nps.gov to obtain an electronic copy. Site visits are scheduled by appointment only from July 11-13 and July 25-27 and August 15-17, 2023, with a 24-hour notice. All parties intending to request a site visit must send an email message to tricia_horn@nps.gov to make an appointment.
