REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST This Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEI) is not intended as a formal offering for the award of legal authorization. Participants should not assume they will receive any preference in connection with any future solicitation should they choose to submit materials in response to this RFEI. The National Park Service (NPS) reserves the right, at its sole discretion to withdraw or discontinue the RFEI in whole or in part; use the ideas or materials submitted in response to this RFEI in any manner deemed to be in the best interests of the NPS, including, but not limited to, the undertaking of the prescribed work in a manner other than that which is set forth herein. The NPS likewise reserves the right, at any time, to change any components, concepts or approaches of the RFEI. All costs associated with responding to the RFEI are the sole responsibility of the respondent and any such costs shall not be reimbursed by the NPS. Materials submitted to NPS in connection with this RFEI will not be returned. Opportunity The National Park Service (NPS) is announcing a Request for Expressions of Interest seeking responses from individuals or entities, and non-profit or for profit organizations, interested in providing food and beverage services and/or vending services at the above location. While an option for some type of counter service or grab-n-go is preferred, interest in vending only is acceptable. RFEI Information NPS is seeking lease options with terms up to, but not to exceed, ten years. Any improvements proposed by Applicants, which may be authorized by NPS, will be the responsibility of the Applicant if selected. Information on the Premises Approximately 210 employees work in the National Capital Area Office. Additional federal employees from the surrounding area may utilize the facilities. The services are not available to the general public or visitors to East Potomac Park. See attached drawings for details. Square footage of space (please indicate if you would be interested in just the vending area, or vending area + service area and dining area): Main Breakroom/Dining (including current vending niche) = 708 sf Service Area = 140sf New vending niche = 40 sf (this is just space to accommodate additional vending machines) Government owned equipment available for Lessee use if utilizing Serving Area: Register, Commercial handwashing sink, 30?x24? stainless steel commercial food prep table with undercounter shelf, Commercial three-compartment sink, Stainless Steel cabinet, 36?x72?stainless steel commercial food prep table, Commercial two-door undercounter refrigerator, Sneeze guard, Stainless steel tray slide, Undercounter ice maker, Stainless steel fabricated commercial countertop Allowable services: Vending (drinks, food, snacks, etc.) Counter service for meals - Soup, self-service salad and sandwich bar, etc. Coffee shop with prepackaged meals/grab-n-go (airport model) Days/hours of operation – at a minimum, the NPS would like to see: Vending – available 24/7/365 Counter Service or grab-n-go - Monday-Friday 11 a.m.–1:00. Limited service is acceptable on Fridays and additional hours beyond these listed is acceptable as well (e.g. breakfast, longer lunch hours) Submission Guidelines Submission Deadline: Please email your Expression of Interest response by Wednesday, March 24, 2021 to NPSNCRLeasing@nps.gov.
