Summary: The Superintendent of Gateway National Recreation Area announces a Request For Proposals (RFP) in connection with a Lease for use and occupancy of historic land at Gateway National Recreation Area. The use authorized under the Lease will authorize overnight camping operations and camping supply rentals in Fort Tilden, in the Jamaica Bay Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area. The lease term will be for a period of two (2) operating seasons with a duration of approximately seven (7) months or 169 days per season- from Memorial Day Weekend through Veterans Day (November 11) of each year during which the Lease is in effect. The minimum operating season is from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend of each year during which this Lease is in effect. The Lease will issued in accordance with 54 USC 102102 and 36 CFR 18. The number of campsites to be authorized under the Lease: Season 1 - Not to exceed (10) campsites in any one location (A, B, or C). Season 2 - Not to exceed a total of twenty (20) campsites at (A, B and C). Terms, Conditions, Restrictions, and Limitations are identified in the attachments to this announcement.
