The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Florence Bascom Geoscience Center, intends to award a non-competitive purchase order to Microtrac Inc. for one Microtrac Camsizer 3D instrument with a data evaluation unit, to be delivered to Reston, VA within 30 days of award. The instrument must provide 2D particle analysis from 20 µm to 30 mm and 3D analysis from 150 µm to 20 mm, including sphericity, roundness, 3D morphology, and 2–5 minute sample processing. Microtrac is identified as the sole provider of the Camsizer 3D and the only source capable of meeting USGS’s required analytical range and capabilities in a single unit. The anticipated award date is 9/24/2026, and the contract will be firm fixed-price. All responsible sources may submit a quotation for informational consideration, but this notice is not a request for competitive quotations, and a vendor must be registered at SAM.gov to be awarded.
