Amended Notice of Intent: Notice of Intent for Award: The US Fish and Wildlife Service intends to award a sole source requirement to Alaska Nannut Co-Management Council (ANCC), for consulting services to draft a harvest management plan for the co-management of polar bears in Alaska in two phases and related necessary tasks. This will involve maintaining staff for ANCC and securing legal counsel as needed, arranging travel and logistics for ANCC meetings, arranging ANCC representation at both domestic and international meetings related to polar bear management, and arranging meetings in ANCC communities to conduct outreach and further efforts related to the draft Co-Management Agreement and draft Chukchi Sea Polar Bear Harvest Management Plan. Alaska Nannut Co-Management Council has been determined to be the only firm with the capability to provide the required polar bear harvest management plan services since they are the only organization determined to be capable of implementing the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA) Title V, U.S.-Russia Agreement and demonstrate the have the legal authority to represent the 15 tribal governments in the State of Alaska that engage in the annual subsistence taking of polar bears from the Alaska-Chukotka population.
