No solicitation package is available and tel... NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available and telephone requests will not be honored. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) intends to award a sole source purchase order to Star-Oddi to furnish: depth/ temperature loggers Description The Ashland Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office needs depth/ temperature loggers to support an acoustic sampling project in eastern Lake Superior. The loggers will be attached to gill nets that will be set on the bottom of Lake Superior (>200m). The loggers must be small and light, so they do not cause the nets to sag down and affect how the nets catch fish. Heavier loggers will cause the net to be less buoyant and will affect our abilities to measure where fish were captured in relationship to the bottom of the lake. Acquisition of depth/ temperature loggers having at least the following features will ensure that they will meet the needs of our sampling project. Essential features of the depth/ temperature loggers: ¿ Must collect both temperature and depth ¿ Length no greater than approximately 45mm ¿ Weight no greater than 15-20g ¿ Temperature accuracy of +/- 0.10 C ¿ Depth accuracy +/- 0.6% of specified depth range ¿ Operational depth range down to 250m ¿ User specified measurement intervals ¿ Battery life of at least 1 year The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for this requirement is 334519, Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing with the size standard of 500 employees. The Federal Supply Code (FSC) / Product Service Code (PSC) procurement is 7A20. This purchase will be made utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with: ¿ Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13.106-1(b) for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold of $250,000. Interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement within three (3) calendar days of the publication of this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No reimbursement for any cost connected with providing capability information will be provided.
