NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD ON A SOLE- SOURCE BASIS to Forest Technology Systems for equipment upgrade of Remote Automated Weather Stations (RAWS). The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS) intends to award a fixed-price purchase order under authority of FAR 6.302-1, Other than Full and Open Competition procedures and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition procedures to Forest Technology Systems, Inc. of Victoria, British Columbia under GSA Contract # GS-07F-9253S. The USFWS, Southwest Region, Fire Management Division requires equipment upgrades of RAWS to maintain operational status pursuant to NWCG Fire Weather Station Standards and Guidelines. This acquisition is an upgrade on RAWS located throughout the southwestern United States. USFWS intends to purchase eight Fixed RAWS 12S to F6 Upgrades; one Quick Deploy RAWS 12S to F6 Upgrade; and two GOES CS2 Transmitter Retrofit for field stations located in the Southwest Region including Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma. FTS is the vendor that produces and supplies the parts to the current RAWS system employed across USFWS field stations. FTS is the initial installer of this specialized equipment and provides specialized services for these stations. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 541990. The size standard is $15 Million. This notice is for informational purposes only and not a request for competitive proposals but rather a notice of the Agency¿s intent to make a sole-source award to Forest Technology Systems, Inc. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
