This does not extend the response due date. Question 1: 6a. " It talks about the State Contractors license as required by Washington. ... but then it states, " The elevator inspector shall also possess a 30 day temp Operating Permit after approving the elevator for temporary use." Can you please clarify. Does this mean we are to have the state inspector involved every 30 days? Our Mechanics are only doing service and the contract is calling out quarterly service, not monthly. We also don't issue Operating Permits, that is done by the State. Unless I am mistaken, and it is run differently through your facility. Answer 1: No state inspector or inspections are needed every 30 days. We have a state operating permit for the units, we need to keep it valid by performing the quarterly and annual inspections. Our staff does the monthly work on the units. Question 2: 6b. What kind of certification are you requiring? The Washington elevator license covers the rack and pinion style conveyances. Our mechanics have experience servicing them throughout their careers, however, the manufacturer will not certify 3rd party mechanics to service their equipment specifically. Their equipment can be serviced off of their maintenance manual. Can you please clarify what the requirements are for the qualifications? Answer 2: Elevator license is required. The contactor must be able to display their abilities by documented servicing of similar rack and pinion elevators. Please provide documented experience servicing rack and pinion elevators. Knowledge only, of these units does not equal experience replacing the safety devices and certifying them. ********************************************************************* The purpose amendment 2 is to: 1.
