This is a Request for Information (RFI) to determine the interest and capabilities for delivery and installation for LOTR-AFC system in the USGS Luminescence Geochronology Laboratory in Denver, CO. The LOTR-AFC system shall meet the following technical specifications: ¿ The system must be fully automated, producing open source files readable by the R programming language ¿ The system should produce files that are capable of being stored in a variety of mediums (i.e. Microsoft office, .binx files) ¿ The system must have the ability to store up to 40 aliquots at a time prior to measurement ¿ It must contain a Sr90 radiation source with a dose rate of approximately 0.11 Gy/s ¿ It must be free of any radiation exposure to adjacent samples, that is, no radiation ¿crosstalk¿ ¿ It must contain an automated, internal filter wheel capable of changing the filters for the photomultiplier tube (PMT) ¿ The photomultiplier tube (PMT) must be capable of making measurements in the 300-650 nm wavelength range. ¿ It must contain Blue and IR light emitting diodes (LEDs). ¿ It must have the ability to make optical stimulation for optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) measurements ¿ It must be capable of performing continuous wave optically stimulated luminescence (CW-OSL) measurements and linearly-modulated optically stimulated luminescence (LM-OSL) measurements ¿ It must be capable of heating a sample up to 500 °C with a variable heating rate ¿ It must have the ability for thermal stimulation or thermoluminescence (TL) measurements ¿ It must be fully automated, employing only open-source software that can be altered as necessary ¿ This notice does not obligate the Government to award contract.
