EC - MT. ELBERT CRANES NDE/MODERNIZATION Source Sought The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Upper Colorado Region, Grand Junction, Colorado Office, is issuing this source sought notice to determine the availability and capability of small business sources for a contemplated construction project titled: MT ELBERT CRANES NDE/MODERNIZATION This notice is a tool to identify small businesses that have both the technical expertise and interest performing the work and is for INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. Information obtained through this notice may be used to determine the potential for issuing a future solicitation for this project as a small business set-aside, and to provide input for the Government’s overall acquisition strategy. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE and does not constitute any commitment by the Government. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this notice. All interested sources must respond to future solicitation announcements separately from responses to the sources sought notice. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is 811310 Commercial and Industrial Machinery and equipment repair and maintenance, with a small business size standard of $7.5 million. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The principal scope of work for Mt. Elbert Cranes Modernization includes, but are not limited to, the following: 1- removing and disposing of existing bridge crane motors and control equipment, electrical wiring, associated enclosures, and trolley power rails; 2- furnishing, installing, and testing new motors and variable frequency drive (VFD) crane controls, and trolley festoon power system; 3- removing and disposing of hoist ropes; 4- furnishing and installing new hoist ropes; 5- performing system checkout and commissioning, operation and maintenance training and certified crane load tests; 6- certifying crane lifting devices. 7- performing a thorough non-destructive examination of the bridge crane components by a combination of methods including: 8- visual inspection, magnetic particle inspection, ultrasonic testing inspection, and dye penetration testing. 9- Servicing of all component lubrication is included in the work. LOCATION OF THE WORK: The work on the Mount Elbert Crane Modernization is located at the Mount Elbert Power Plant 20 miles southwest of Leadville Colorado. INFORMATION REQUESTED: All interested and qualified firms responding to this Sources Sought Notice are required to provide the following information: 1. Firm’s name, address, point of contact, phone number, email address and website if applicable; 2. CAGE Code & DUNS Number; 3. Any or all Small Business Classifications, to include size and any additional socio-economic categories such as, but not limited to, 8(a) Program, SDVOSB, VOSB, HUBZone, small disadvantaged, and or WOSB, etc.; 4. Brief capabilities statement that addresses experience performing similar projects as a prime contractor; 5. Listing of at least three previous and/or current projects where the firm has successfully performed Large Crane maintenance and repair demonstrating within the scope. Describe the size and scope of the project(s), and dollar value of the contract. Identify percentage of work on the project(s) that was self-performed.
