The National Park Service, Alaska Regional Office, intends to issue a sole source award to NC Machinery for a transmission rebuild for a Caterpillar 140H grader. NC Machinery is the only certified Caterpillar dealer and repair shop in southcentral Alaska. The Government intends to procure from only one source under the authority of FAR 13.1061(b). This will be a commercial acquisition using simplified acquisition procedures per FAR 13. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 336350 with a Small Business Size Standard of 1500 employees. This is not a request for competitive quotes, but serves as a procurement notice to fulfill public posting requirements in accordance with FAR 5.101(a) (2). No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract award will be made on the basis of quotations received in response to this notice. However, any firm that believes they have capabilities to provide this service item may give written notification to the Contracting Officer at darcy_skinner@nps.gov. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination not to compete this proposed order based on responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the Government.
