The purpose of this synopsis is to provide a notice to the public of information applicable to the U.S. National Park Service (NPS) Office of its requirement for the replacement of Irrigation System at Sutro Heights Park, Golden Gate National Recreation Area San Francisco, CA. Authority: NPS is issuing this synopsis in accordance with FAR Part 5.204 Pre-Solicitation Notice. Description: NPS requires services from a contractor with the experience and technical capability to provide replacement of irrigation system. The irrigation system that serves the historic maintained landscape at Sutro Heights Park is failing and in need of replacement. The irrigation system waters the grass, historic rose gardens and trees associated with the historic landscape. There are several leaks in the system and the current sprinkler heads do not adequately conserve water. A completely functioning underground automated irrigation system installed and properly operating, based on the scope of work provided. This new system will replace an existing system that is completely outdated and currently operated manually. The project will update leaking water lines (approximately 6,537 LF), outdated manual sprinklers with 135 water saving sprinkler heads and update a control system to establish a watering schedule. Place of Performance: Sutro Heights Park Golden Gate National Recreation Area San Francisco, CA. Competitive Acquisition: It is anticipated that this will be a competitive acquisition 100% set-aside for small business participation. Contract Type: Firm Fixed Price Construction Contract. Period of Performance: The anticipated period of performance is (90) ninety days from the notice to proceed (NTP) date. Release of the Solicitation: It is anticipated that the release of Solicitation No. 140P8622R0010 is anticipated to be released around May 13, 2022. Should there be any issues arising for this solicitation, the Contracting Officer will provide an update via https://www.sam.gov.
