The description of the service being procured and its intended use is to replace the automatic irrigation/raw tank valve at Katherine Landing. This valve regulates flow from the raw water tank to the irrigation tank and ensures there is adequate water supply for irrigation, treatment and firefighting. The Sole Source Justification is classified as an expedited action, as the system requires repair as soon as possible to ensure continual ability to provide safe, clean and affordable drinking water, irrigation water and firefighting water. Only one source was solicited due to the expedited nature of the requirement. A single source award was made to Core Contracting Group of Henderson, Nevada due to their expertise and capability to perform the work based on past performance history and similar work they have done for the NPS.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE SOLE SOURCE AWARD The Lake Mead Major Acquisition Buying Office, on behalf of The National Park Service (NPS) Lake Mead National Recreation Area, intends to award to Core Contracting Group of Henderson, Nevada on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b) ¿ this is an urgent action to procure and install the automatic irrigation/raw tank valve at Katherine Landing. This valve ensures there is adequate water supply for irrigation. The NAICS code is 221310 Water Supply and Irrigation systems, with a small business size standard of 30 Million in annual receipts. The NPS anticipates awarding a firm-fixed-price purchase order to Core Contracting. for this requirement.
