Carefully remove and salvage steel ornate railing to first street elevation newel post, and slate stair treads. Fabricate new steel pan and stringer structure, repair and restore railing, incorporate new pipe railing to the restored rail to achieve Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) compliance, clean slate treads and turnover to the Park, install new honed granite stair treads, and reinstall as a restored complete stairway. PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE: The National Park Service, Interior Regions 3,4 & 5, Ohio Major Acquisition Buying Office, intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the EXTERIOR FRONT STAIR RESTORATION Project at the First Ladies National Historic Site located in Canton, Ohio. The work for this project will consist of removing the existing steel stair structure and existing condensate tube heating within tread mortar bed. Carefully remove and salvage steel ornate railing to first street elevation newel post, and slate stair treads. TYPE OF CONTRACT: This will be a firm-fixed price contract expected to be awarded to a prime contractor around September 2020 with performance expected to begin in September 2020. Construction Wage Rate Requirements for Stark County, OH will apply. EVALUATION FACTORS: Technical, Past Performance, and Price. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) CODE CLASSIFICATION and SET ASIDE: The NAICS Code is 236220, and the size standard is $39.5 million. This project is set aside 100% for Small Businesses. SITE VISIT: A site visit date, time, and meeting location will be announced in the solicitation.
