Presolicitation Notice for Rehabilitation of Caprock Coulee Parking Area : The National Park Service, DOI Regions, 3, 4, and 5, NEKOTA Major Acquisition Buying Office (MABO) intends to issue a solicitation for the replacement of the Caprock Coulee asphalt parking area and adjoining sidewalks located at the North Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park near Watford City, North Dakota. The work area is located approximately 6.5 miles from the Park North Unit entrance. A competitive Invitation for Bids/Sealed Bid process will be used. The solicitation number will be 140P6321B0001. This project is set-aside 100% for Small Businesses using NAICS Code 238990 with a size standard of $16.5 million. The magnitude of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000, and the intent is to issue a firm-fixed price, construction contract in response to the solicitation. Prime contractors interested in working at Theodore Roosevelt to remove old asphalt, install new asphalt, and install new adjoining accessible concrete walkways should prepare to submit a competitive bid for this project. Work will include removal of approximately 9,740 SF of old asphalt materials to be recycled, grading, preparation for approximately 10,885 SF of new asphalt with 991 SF of accessible concrete adjoining walkways. All asphalt demolished shall be recycled to the greatest extent possible. The use of equipment to prep the areas for the new asphalt installation and to demo the old will be limited to two points of egress by personnel and equipment to limit the damage done to park grounds. The egress points to be used will be a path/road already established. The government anticipates that work would begin in May of 2021 with a 60-calendar day completion schedule. Due to summer visitation, it is expected that once contractor commences with disturbance of the project area that construction activity persists through completion.
