Question 1: Seeking clarification regarding avoiding property scalping and adhering strictly to a maximum grass height of 3 inches. Based on recent on-site assessments it has been strongly recommended a more optimal height of 4 inches, particularly due to the challenging and uneven terrain that may lead to scalping issues at the specified height and prevailing heat conditions in that area. Answer 1: Three inches will be sufficient to manage the landscape at the Truman Farm. Question 2: Request comprehensive instructions concerning the removal of debris and trash. Clarification on whether our focus is solely on water bottles and containers, or if it extends to encompass smaller fragments of refuse as well. Answer 2: Debris for removal includes glass and plastic bottles, plastics bags, food containers/wrappers, styrofoam, and paper debris. If you can see it from 10 feet away, it should be removed. Question 3: The matter of fallen trees. Approximately 9-12 trees have collapsed in the area. Should these fallen trees be considered as debris to be cleared before mowing operations commence and encompassed in the quote? Answer 3: We do not include the downed trees as debris. These will be cleaned up under separate contract. Mowing will need to take place as closely around downed trees as possible. End of questions and answers. All costs associated with providing information in response to this market survey shall be the responsibility of the firm. Any information submitted is voluntary. The Contracting Officer will make an acquisition strategy based on the results of this market survey. Prime contractors interested in providing services at Harry S Truman National Historic Site in Grandview, Missouri, the work will consist of: Providing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and services required to provide full professional landscape maintenance on properties including (weekly): debris and trash removal, mowing, shrub trimming, weed whipping/trimming, clearing/blowing debris from all sidewalks and paved areas. We anticipate that work would begin in mid-May 2023 with a 22-week period of performance. The NAICS code for this project is 561730 - Landscaping Services, with a small business size standard of $9.5M. Offerors must be registered as a small business under the listed socio-economic categories in SAM (System for Award Management) under NAICS code 561730 or attest to meeting the size standard for that NAICS code to be eligible for award. This market research is being conducted to acquire additional information about potential contractors that may be interested in performing this work.
