GENERAL: The National Park Service (NPS), Department of Interior, anticipates issuing a solicitation for the project described below. This is a pre-solicitation notice only and does not constitute a solicitation; accordingly, no response is due at this time. Specific instructions on submitting proposals will be contained in the solicitation documents. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued on or around -5/20/2023. The entire solicitation package, including all attachments, will be available electronically at www.sam.gov Paper copies of this solicitation will not be made available. PROJECT SCOPE: The National Park Service (NPS) CAPE LOOKOUT NATIONAL SEASHORE HARKERS ISLAND, NC is seeking qualified firms or organizations for the replacement of two roofs in a remote location of the park. Contractor shall repair/replace : 1. Water Building, 1400 Sq/ft: -remove shingles, rake boards, and fascia. -scrape surface clean of all debris, shingles, paper, nails, and staples. -inspect sheathing and replace as necessary, up to 10%. -prepare sheathing and structure for standing seam metal roof. -install a thermal underlayment/weather membrane on entire surface. -install metal roof. -install new composite rake and fascia boards. -paint rake and fascia to match roof color. 2. Boat House Roof, 1600 Sq/ft: -remove existing shingles, rake boards, and fascia. -prepare roof surface for installation of cedar shakes -make sheathing repairs as necessary, up to 10% -Install 30mil ice and water membrane on 100% roof surface. -Replace copper flashing, in-kind dimensions. -Install Cedar shakes, perfection, Number 1, 18¿. Blue Label. -Install new KDAT pressure treated, rake, fascia, and soffit. -Paint rake and fascia to match exist PROCUREMENT TYPE: The Government anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price contract to meet this requirement. SET-ASIDE: This acquisition has been set-aside for small business concerns. Offers will be solicited only from small business concerns. Offers received from concerns that are not small business concerns shall be considered nonresponsive and will be rejected.
