GENERAL: The National Park Service (NPS), Department of Interior, anticipates issuing a solicitation for the project described below. This is a pre-solicitation notice only and does not constitute a solicitation; accordingly, no response is due at this time. Specific instructions on submitting proposals will be contained in the solicitation documents. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued on or around 7/14/2021. The entire solicitation package, including all attachments, will be available electronically at www.beta.sam.gov Paper copies of this solicitation will not be made available. PROJECT SCOPE: The NPS is seeking qualified firms or organizations for the installation of underground fiber optic infrastructure between buildings to create a campus environment. This project will connect the Ocracoke Ranger Station network rack to the network cabinets at both Ocracoke Visitor Center and the Ocracoke Maintenance Shop. The project includes all labor, supplies, materials, and testing necessary to create a fully functional fiber optic network between these three buildings. It is the responsibility of the contractor to provide fully functioning end to end network infrastructure (fiber optic patch panel to fiber optic patch panel) for each building within the campus. Acceptance of the completed work will be based on acceptable Bi-Directional OTDR testing that fall within specified limits. This scope of work describes the minimum level of performance required by the government. All equipment must be new and unused. *Connecting non-government devices to the government data network is strictly prohibited. All technicians performing work must be certified to install and terminate fiber. All work shall be done in accordance with the attached National Park Service Cabling Standards for all data network cabling specifications and installation requirements.
