UPDATE HARDWARE FOR FIBER OPTIC MAP This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format outlined in FAR Subpart 12.6, FAC 2005-87 and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The resultant purchase order will be awarded using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR 13.5. This is a total small business set aside in accordance with FAR 19-502-2. The principle NAICS is 238990 and size standard is $15M. The National Park Service, East Contracting Office has a requirement to upgrade an existing fiber optic map within the exhibit room of the Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center. Upgrades will need to be made to both the fiber optic interface and operating system. The current system consists of optical fibers, illuminators, controllers, and mechanisms with customized timing and lights synchronized to audio narration, which is captioned on a 24¿ LED display board located below the map. The accompanied ventilation system is unique in its construction with hardware consisting of bicycle chains and wheels to provide sufficient convection to maintain the temperature inside the structure below 30 degrees Fahrenheit. The current fiber optic lighting interface, ventilation system, and operating system are currently unserviceable, and need to be updated with modern technology. The solicitation number assigned to this requirement is 140P5123Q0027. The solicitation is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). The Government intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price Contract to the firm that provides the best value without discussions in accordance with FAR 13.106-2. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which if timely received, shall be considered by the Agency. Companies must have valid UEI number and be registered with System for Award Management (www.sam.gov). SAM.gov offers free services. An offeror must ensure that they are self-certified under NAICS Code 238990 in the Representations and Certifications portion of SAM.gov.
