The National Park Service, Northeast Region, New England Major Acquisition Buying Office, intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a construction requirement at Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, ME. Work will consist of removal of an inefficient and antiquated high-pressure mist fire suppression system and all components. Replace with a new conventional wet pipe sprinkler system to protect approximately 2,080 square feet of curatorial workspace, collections, and archival storage at the Park¿s administrative wing. This will include installation of an aboveground storage tank, fire pump and emergency generator. This project requires the relocation of artifacts to temporary temperature-controlled storage for protection. Detailed specifications and drawings will be provided with final solicitation documents. SOLICITATION NUMBER: 140P4323R0018. PUBLICIZING: The official solicitation (RFP) and its attachments will be issued on or about 04/20/2023 and will be posted to the U.S. government¿s website for contracting opportunities at https://sam.gov/content/opportunities. The contracting office will not provide hardcopies or email copies of the solicitation. PROJECT MAGNITUDE: Between $250,000 and $500,000. TYPE OF CONTRACT: This will be a firm-fixed price contract. Federal Construction Wage Rates for Hancock County, Maine will apply. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) CODE CLASSIFICATION and SET ASIDE: The NAICS Code is 238220 Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors, and the size standard is $19.0 million. This project is set aside 100% for Small Businesses. SITE VISIT: A site visit date, time, and meeting location will be announced in the solicitation. Offerors are highly encouraged to attend the scheduled site visit to inspect the site and to ensure they fully understand the requirement and conditions that may affect the cost of the project, specifications, and performance.
