The National Park Service, Northeast Region, New England Major Acquisition Buying Office, intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a construction requirement at Saugus Iron Works NHS in Saugus, MA. Work will consist of providing all labor, qualified supervision, material, tools, equipment, supplies and incidentals for the rehabilitation of the Blast Furnace Roof and Charging Bridge at Saugus Iron Works National Historic Site. Work includes replacement of wood framing and decking at bridge and roof framing and board roofing at the Blast Furnace. Includes timber beam replacement, replacement of lookouts, wood decking, wood roofing, wood railings with wire mesh and 20% of timber purlins. A detailed Statement of Work and specification will be provided with final solicitation documents. SOLICITATION NUMBER: 140P4321R0015. PUBLICIZING: The official solicitation (RFP) and its attachments will be issued on or about 7/15/21 and will be posted to the U.S. government¿s website for contracting opportunities at https://sam.gov/content/opportunities. The contracting office will not provide hardcopies or email copies of the solicitation. PROJECT MAGNITUDE: Between $500,000 and $1,000,000. TYPE OF CONTRACT: This will be a firm-fixed price contract expected to be awarded to a prime contractor by early September. Federal Construction Wage Rates for Essex County, Massachusetts will apply. EVALUATION FACTORS: North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) CODE CLASSIFICATION and SET ASIDE: The NAICS Code is 236220 Commercial and Institutional Building Construction, and the size standard is $39.5 million. This project is set aside 100% for Woman-Owned, Small Businesses. SITE VISIT: A site visit date, time, and meeting location will be announced in the solicitation. Offerors are highly encouraged to attend the scheduled site visit to inspect the site and to ensure they fully understand the requirement and conditions that may affect the cost of the project, specifications, and performance.
