It should be noted that access to individual work may be limited due to presence and location of historic gates and structures. This Fence rehabilitation project combines Five (5) separate fence projects into one scope of work. Since these separate fences differ in construction and location, each sub-project has been given its own segment, clarifying what is to be expected for each section of fence.

The work consists of providing all labor, management, supervision, tools, materials, equipment and transportation necessary to perform the project entitled SAMA 3 and SAIR 2 Fence and Gate Replacements, located at the United States Department of the Interior, National Park Service, (SAMA) Salem Maritime National Historic Site, 160-174 Derby St., Salem MA 01970 and (SAIR) Saugus Iron Works, National Historic Site, in the area to the East of 230 Central St., Saugus, MA 01906. The major elements of work are to remove and replace the existing fences and gates. The fences addressed in this project are part of planned cultural landscapes, making it crucial to replace them in kind to appearance except where are clearly stated otherwise. It should be noted that access to individual work may be limited due to presence and location of historic gates and structures. This Fence rehabilitation project combines Five (5) separate fence projects into one scope of work. Since these separate fences differ in construction and location, each sub-project has been given its own segment, clarifying what is to be expected for each section of fence. This resultant award will be a Firm Fixed Price Construction Contract. The period of performance for this effort shall be approximately 150 days from the Notice to Proceed. This is a total Small Business set aside. The Solicitation will be issued as a Request for Quote, using NAICS Code 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction ($39.5M) THERE WILL BE A PREPROPOSAL SITE VISIT. The Solicitation documents will be issued on or about December 19, 2020, and will be posted on Federal Business Opportunities (https://beta.sam.gov). This notice is for informational purposes only and is not a request for submission of offers. The Government is not obligated to issue a solicitation as a result of this notice. No other information is available until the issuance of the solicitation. In order to be awarded a contract, an Offeror must have a DUNS number, be registered and active in the System for Award Management (SAM), http://www.beta.sam.gov, and have completed their Online Representations and Certifications, before the Proposal due date for this Project.
