Z--NPS-ALPO STABILIZATION OF STAPLE BEND TUNNEL
The National Park Service seeks one small business contractor to stabilize the Staple Bend Tunnel at Allegheny Portage Railroad National Historic Site, located near Mineral Point, about 4-5 miles from Johnstown, PA. The work includes a stabilization maintenance plan, scaling, fossil inventory, rock bolt anchors, void fill concrete, gunite, drainage, and signposts, with optional 3D scanning and bat houses. The solicitation is anticipated to be issued on or after August 20, 2026, with a performance period of approximately 190 days after Notice to Proceed and mobilization expected after October 1, 2026. This will be a firm-fixed-price contract under a 100% small business set-aside, using the Lowest Price Technically Acceptable evaluation process. Prospective contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) before award.
