Th... The original cast iron sewer line was replaced with 6" P.V.C. schedule 40 line between the years of 1978 and 1979. Over the past 45 years the gravity flow system has been compromised by tree roots. The objective of the project is to reline the sewer system to eliminate any possible water infiltration, make the necessary repairs to manholes, install cleanouts, and lower the cost of sewer that is pumped to the town of Appomattox. Reline four sections of the piping and make needed repairs to the manholes within the gravity portion of the sanitary system. Reline five to six gravity lines from manholes to building structures.
