GATE/225953 - Rehabilitate and Replace Well No. 4 at Sandy Hook, New Jersey, Gateway National Recreation Park. This project will fully rehabilitate a water well system to make it operable and compliant with New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) requirements for firm capacity to meet peak daily demand. Project work includes design-build effort including: design development and construction documents, drilling a redundant well (as required by NJDEP), installation of the system¿s electrical controls, and electrical service; and installation of a multi-stage turbine pump, discharge piping, blow-off valve, and meter. A new well house, driveway, and parking lot will be constructed. The project also replaces existing mechanical joint piping from the well site to the water plant building, an emergency generator and security fencing with gates. The existing Well No. 4 will be abandoned in accordance with State guidelines and the deteriorated well house, driveway and parking lot will be removed and the area returned to a natural condition.
