CRLA 198641 - Correct Structural Deficiencies & Stabilize Steel Visitor Center The work consists of the rehabilitation of the Steel Visitor Center, which is located in the Munson Valley administration area/park headquarters. This project will replace 2011 temporary shoring of the first floor ceiling with a permanent solution to correct structural deficiencies throughout the 7,216 square feet (sf) two half story building as well as, provide appropriate code and sustainability related improvements. This includes addressing significant structural deficiencies in the first floor exterior stone wall/foundation and second floor/roof wood framing, providing improved load-bearing capabilities and seismic upgrades; along with replacing building systems, replacing roofing, rehabilitating the building to meet current codes, and improving the building¿s energy performance. The stone wall reinforcing work includes core drilling approximately 50 anchor rods down into a new reinforced concrete footing under the historic stone walls of the building. Site work will consist of utility replacement or disconnect and reconnect, and restoration after excavation around building perimeter.
