This is a Sources Sought Synopsis for the purpose of conducting market research and obtaining industry information only. The National Park Service will use information obtained through this synopsis to develop an acquisition strategy. Proposals are NOT being requested nor accepted at this time. REQUIREMENT: Yellowstone National Park (YNP) is completing quarantine of male bison for brucellosis testing. Quarantine is a multiyear process requiring repeated testing of animals and holding within double-fenced certified facilities. Quarantine of about 73, two-year-old bison was initiated in YNP in March 2018. About 55 of these animals are expected to complete the initial phase(s) of quarantine during August 2019, at which time they will qualify for transfer to an assurance testing facility on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation (FP). The NPS will retain ownership of bison through transport and until they are safely unloaded at FP. For this reason, the NPS will oversee loading, transport, ad unloading of animals. It is imperative that all animals are handled safely and humanely through transport and that these animals arrive at Fort Peck unharmed. Please see attached for additional information and submission of capability requirements.
