BLM-CO - North Fruita Desert Paleo Survey - 32 Miles This a combined/synopsis solicitation with a short solicitation time for a paleontological survey in the North Fruita Desert according to Attachment 1 - SOW. In accordance with FAR Part 12.6, streamlined procedures are being used to get this purchase order in place on a tight timeline with a goal of having the work completed by August 15th, 2021. ----- Pre-bid: No hosted pre-bid site visit is planned however, if there is interest we will set up a MS Teams video conference upon request. Email the POC if this is something you need, but we will only have one event for all. ----- DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES 1. Conduct a Paleontology Resources Inventory and report satisfactory to BLM GJFO staff, and meeting the requirements of the Paleontology Resources Protection Act of 2009 (as amended), the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, and other applicable laws. 2. Conduct a pre-field meeting and literature review with BLM GJFO Recreation program staff and/or paleontologist. 3. Conduct pedestrian field surveys of the proposed trail alignments provided by the BLM GJFO as GIS shapefiles and shown on the attached map. The corridor width for the survey will be approximately 60 meters (200 feet - 100 feet in each direction from the centerline of the proposed trail alignment). The proposed routes are not flagged or otherwise marked on the ground. 4. Reevaluate any newly-discovered localities and, if necessary based on the results of the inventory, writing complete management recommendations and mitigation measures for resources at risk of damage or destruction by trail construction and/or use. 5. Complete and submit a written Paleontology Resource Inventory Report, associated digital documentation (PDFs and shapefiles), and, if the results of the inventory are positive, paleontology locality forms. 6.
