DATIL WELL UNIT 3 THINNING 2026
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Albuquerque District seeks a small business contractor for manual fuel reduction/thinning and slash management of pinyon-juniper on approximately 322 acres at the Datil Well Recreation Area near Datil, New Mexico (Catron County). The project aims to reduce wildfire risk to the community of Datil and the Datil Well Campground by removing hazardous fuels, improving forest health, protecting infrastructure, and disrupting canopy continuity from bug kill mortality. Work is to be performed from October 1, 2026 to April 1, 2027, with a firm fixed-price purchase order issued as a single lump sum payment based on a price per acre. The acquisition is set aside for small businesses under NAICS 115310 with a size standard of $34.0 million. Interested contractors must be registered and active in SAM and submit quotes electronically to the contracting officer.
