BLM-CO-TRFO- EDGEMONT HIGHLANDS THINNING- The purpose of this project is to reduce threat from catastrophic wildfire by reducing fuels available to burn. The Edgemont Highland Project is in a high-risk wildland Urban interface area. The reduction of fuels will also enhance forest stand health. Stand vigor improvement will help the forest resist potential future stressors such as: drought, disease, insects and wildfire.
