W--Pack Animal Support
This is a contract for pack animal and wrangler services to support wilderness fieldwork for geologists in the Benson Plateau area, accessible from the Wahtum Lake trailhead in Multnomah, OR. The required services involve three separate trips in August to deliver and off-load gear to a remote camp and pick it up at the end of each week, with the wrangler not required to stay on-site. The contract is contingent on the trail being cleared to a condition passable for pack animals prior to the trips. A tentative schedule will be provided upon award, with modifications requiring at least seven days' notice, and invoicing is expected upon completion of each individual trip. The geologists will hike themselves, set up their own camp, and no cooking or bear-proof receptacles are required from the contractor.
