No contract will be awarded as a result of this Sources Sought announcement. The United States Geological Survey, Office of Acquisition and Grants is soliciting information from qualified sources; the results of this announcement will be evaluated to determine if there are businesses capable of supplying these goods. The USGS, OAG seeks responses from vendors that possess the capability to supply a Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS) that is light weight, portable, has very high-speed data acquisition and long range to conduct detailed topographic surveys and mapping for a wide range of research and monitoring applications under extreme field conditions in the Grand Canyon. The TLS should have the capability to acquire data at multiple, user selected measurement programs ranging from two hundred to two thousand kHz. The TLS should have the capability to acquire lidar data at speeds ranging from two hundred thousand to two million points per second at distance ranges between one thousand and three hundred meters. The TLS should have internal cameras that acquire photos during the laser scanning. The TLS should have an internal GNSS receiver and an external RTK-GNSS antenna. The TLS should not require an external computer or tablet to operate the instrument, including acquiring and registering scans. The TLS should have a data acquisition, registration, and processing workflow that allows for automatic registration and multistation adjustment, and is fast, reliable, and compatible with the Grand Canyon Monitoring Research Center's current instrument and software that has been used for the past decade (a Riegl VZ1000 TLS and RiscanPro software, respectively) and will be replaced by this planned purchase of a new TLS. Minimum requirements: - At least 3 internal cameras - Speed of data collection with minimum scan times of 25 seconds per scan position. - Scan positions can be completed with acquisition of photos during the lidar scanning at user-specified measurement programs between 140 kHz and 2200 kHz that acquire data at 140,000 points/second and 2,200,000 points/second at 1000 to 250 meter measurement range distances, respectively. - Weight is not more than 12 pounds including batteries and the RTK antenna. - Onboard registration of scan positions does not require an external computer or tablet. - Data registration workflow with automatic registration process followed by multistation adjustment. - Compatible with current instrument and software, Riegl VZ1000 TLS and RiscanPro software Interested parties should submit a Capability Statement to the Contracting Officer, Charlan Fejarang at cjfejarang@usgs.gov by the due date, Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 12:00pm.
