This Request For Information is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. No contract will be awarded as a result of this Sources Sought announcement. The United States Geological Survey, Office of Acquisition and Grants is soliciting information from qualified sources; the results of this announcement will be evaluated to determine if there are businesses capable of fulfilling this requirement. The U.S. Geological Survey, Grand Canyon Monitoring and Research Center is in search of vendors that can supply Acoustic-Doppler 2 MHz 2D horizontal profilers, one 1 MHz frequency and one 2 MHz frequency, with 2 acoustic beams, pressure sensor, compass, tilt sensor, noise filter, PUV Wave burst collection capability, and 16GB of internal datalogging. The Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler must have the following specifications: Two horizontal acoustic beams with 50 or more measurement cells, internal 0-10m pressure sensor, internal tilt sensor, internal compass, PUV Wave burst collection capability, and a noise filter to reduce night-time noise levels. To our knowledge, these instruments are the only low-noise sideways-looking acoustic-Doppler profilers on the market that include an internal compass and PUV wave-burst collection capability that is compatible with our existing acoustical suspended-sediment-measurement deployments in Grand Canyon, Dinosaur, Canyonlands, Big Bend, upper Rio Grande, and Chippewa River, and data-processing methodologies (published in multiple peer-reviewed science articles) For further information, interested parties may contact the Contracting Officer, Victor Nuno, electronically at vnuno@usgs.gov by the due date, April 17, 2024, by 12:00pm ET.
