The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting market research to determine the availability of qualified businesses capable of providing a terrestrial laser scanner and peripherals as described in the attached Salient Characteristics. This sources-sought announcement is not a request for quote or proposal and the Government is not committed to award of a purchase order or contract pursuant to this announcement. The information resulting from this market research is simply for planning purposes to assist the Government in determining its acquisition strategy. The Government will not pay for any costs incurred in the preparation of information for responding to this notice. Laser ranges to 2,500 meters at laser pulse repetition rate of at least 50,000 Hz (effective measurement rate of at least 20,000 measurements per second) . Point accuracy of at least 5 mm and point precision of at least 3 mm; . Angle measurement resolution of at least 0.0007 degrees vertical and 0.0005 degrees horizontal; . Class 1 laser product; . Integrates with a variety of external cameras (both photographic ¿ red/green/blue and thermal infrared); . Uses integrated 3-axis accelerometers and 3-axis gyroscopes for instrument positioning; . Uses reflective targets in the survey workflow for accurate point registration and georeferencing procedures; . Allows connection of external RTK GPS survey antennas; . Uses swappable external battery packs for long temporal use in field settings
