Decommissioning plan and optional decommissioning service and support The U.S. Geological Survey is in the process of vacating its Menlo Park, CA campus and moving all operations to NASA Ames Research Park at Moffett Field, CA. Approximately 220 mostly office-based employees have already moved, and the remainder will move by the end of calendar year 2023. The base scope of work is for the contractor to prepare a decommissioning plan for the campus in accordance with ANSI/ASSE Z9.11-2016, entitled "laboratory decommissioning." The base period of performance is six months. The optional scope of work will include executing the decommissioning plan, preparing the decommissioning report, and preparing the statement of risk. We intend to solicit competitive quotations in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.5, "Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items." The applicable product/service code is R428, "Support - Professional: Industrial Hygienics." The applicable NAICS code is 562910, "Environmental Remediation Services," size standard 750 employees. This acquisition is set aside for participation by small business concerns. Prospective contractors do not need to respond to this presolicitation notice. The request for quotations and statement of work are expected to be available the week of 04 May 2020.
