This is a Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Order to ALS USA Inc, Reno NV. The requirement is for chemical analysis and assay using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (ICP/AES) and Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP/MS) methods. To the knowledge of the USGS, ALS USA, Inc. is the only source capable of meeting all the described requirements below. The Contractor shall analyze igneous and sedimentary rock samples for ferrous Iron (FeO), gold, platinum and other metal groups. The purpose of this notice is to satisfy the requirements of FAR Subpart 5.2. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all responsible parties may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. No solicitation will be issued. A determination not to compete this action based upon responses received is in the sole discretion of the Government. Responses are due no later than 01/17/2020 1300 EST. Response shall be submitted to Stewart Evans by email at sevans@usgs.gov. All responses shall be limited to 10 pages. No hard copies or submissions to FedConnect will be accepted.
