The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting market research to determine the availability of qualified businesses capable of providing a Trimble R10 Global Navigation Satellite System Receivers and Data Recorders as described in the attached Salient Characteristics. To the USGS' knowledge, the only source who can provide the Global Navigation Satellite System in accordance with the attached Salient Characteristics is Trimble or their re-sellers. The Trimble Global Navigation Satellite System R10 receivers are capable of centimeter or better horizontal and vertical position data of < 30km with a horizontal accuracy of 8mm + 1ppm RMS and vertical accuracy of 15 mm + 1ppm RMS; Network Real Time Kinematic with a horizontal accuracy of 8mm + 0.5ppm RMS and vertical accuracy of 15 mm + 0.5ppm RMS. This sources sought announcement is not a request for quote or proposal and the Government is not committed to award of a purchase order or contract pursuant to this announcement. The information resulting from this market research is simply for planning purposes to assist the Government in determining its acquisition strategy. The Government will not pay for any costs incurred in the preparation of information for responding to this notice.
