High-sensitivity imaging ultraviolet spectrometer for characterizing volcanic gas emissions Technical Specifications - Aberration-free imaging-spectroscopy optics. - Back-illuminated sensor with quantum efficiency > 30% between 290 and 350 nm - Cooling of back-illuminated sensor to below -30C for noise reduction - Active area of sensor > 10 mm width, > 3 mm height - > 1000 pixels along horizontal sensor direction, > 200 pixels in vertical sensor direction - Size of individual pixels > 10 x 10 microns - Possibility to either read each pixel individually (no binning) or use variable vertical binning to increase read-out speed - USB 3.0 interface allowing full frame readout (with no binning) in 500 ms or less - Spectral resolution of better than 0.5 nm and coincident spectral range of > 100 nm. - Variable start wavelength of spectral range. Typical spectral range of 290 to 420 nm. - Spectral resolution and range must be achieved at all points on the 2D sensor. - No astigmatism or coma allowed throughout the focal plane. - Wavelength accuracy < 0.3 nm - Wavelength repeatability < 0.15 nm - Frame transfer sensor allowing shutterless operation. - L x W x H footprint of the system (including detector) not to exceed 30 x 30 x 30 cm - Weight of the system not to exceed 10 kg - Provisions for c-mount lenses or linear fiber arrays to be mounted on input port aligned with direction of slit.
