REQUEST FOR INFORMATION 12V Lead/ACID AGM Batteries The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting market research to determine the availability of qualified businesses/manufacturers capable of providing of 12V Lead/ACID AGM Batteries with the following technical specifications. These batteries will be used in powering remote seismic monitoring stations throughout Alaska and Washington. This sources sought announcement is not a request for quote or proposal and the Government is not committed to award of a purchase order or contract pursuant to this announcement. The information resulting from this market research is simply for planning purposes to assist the Government in determining its acquisition strategy. The Government will not pay for any costs incurred in the preparation of information for responding to this notice. This is a request for information (RFI) only. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code ¿ 335911 Storage Battery Manufacturing and associated size standard 1250 apply to this announcement. Technical Specifications / Salient Characteristics: 1) Nominal 12V output 2) Deep Cycle 3) AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) technology 4) Approximate dimensions 12"x6.5"x9" (LWH) 5) Capacity >100Ah at 100 hour rate 6) M8 style, threaded insert terminals with associated bolts, nuts, and washers 7) Shipping weight not to exceed 70 lbs. 8) Demonstrated high performance at low temperature (-20F to 0F) 9) Demonstrated high performance at high temperatures (80F - 100F) 10) Rechargeable and suitable for use in solar and wind power systems 11) Battery must be sealed 12) Terminals must be recessed (cannot project above top of battery) so as to allow stacking of batteries and to provide a safeguard against inadvertent shorts between terminals. 13) Must have integrated handle for easy lifting, transport, and safe handling of battery All responsible sources may submit a brochure and/or technical specifications detailing the ability of their product to meet the salient characteristics included with this announcement.
